Information for new developers

You are welcome to join the development team of the CPH STL if you are interested in software development in a large scale. Below you find a list of sources where you can find inspiration for written projects, M.Sc. theses, or Ph.D. theses. Also, small projects are possible where you, for instance, correct a known bug. Big projects will go through external censorship and should be documented as a CPH STL report. Small projects go through internal censorship and can be documented less formally. Observe that in Danish education system 2/3 of your M.Sc. credits can consist of internal exams. The simplest way to get started is to contact Jyrki personally or electronically <jyrki@di.ku.dk>

M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses:
Theses topics proposed by Jyrki Katajainen
Experimental algorithmics:
Research proposal submitted to Danish Natural Science Research Council in September 2002
Software tools:
Research proposal submitted to Danish Natural Science Research Council in September 2001
C++ programming:
Development exercise in the performance-engineering course offered in spring 2001 (any of the STL components not yet booked can be taken)
You can also look at the headers <algorithm>, etc. to see what is not yet implemented. See the module cphstl in our CVS repository.
Web programming:
Development exercise in the software-tools course offered in autumn 2001 (any of the exercises not yet booked can be taken)
